Bring History to Life: Become a Heritage Volunteer

Since 1983 our dedicated and enthusiastic members and volunteers of the New Brunswick Irish Association have generously offered their skills and their time to help fulfill the main goal of our organization:  to raise the public awareness of Irish history, heritage, culture and artistic expression in the Province of New Brunswick.

Our past belongs to everyone—but it takes a dedicated community to keep it alive. While it is perfectly fine to become a member in order to provide much-needed financial support, like all volunteer organizations the other thing we are always desperately short of is working hands.

When you volunteer with us, you do more than donate your time; you become a guardian of our shared history and a storyteller for generations to come.

By joining our team, you will:

  • Connect with Community: Work alongside passionate people who share your love for culture, history, and education.
  • Grow Your Skills: Gain hands-on experience in preservation, public speaking, research, or event coordination.
  • Make a Lasting Impact: Documenting oral and written histories, researching, artifact preservation and encouraging Irish cultural and language traditions within the broader population all contribute to ensuring  the Irish stories, traditions and heritage that shaped our community are preserved for the future.

Whether you can give a few hours a month or a day a week, there is a place for you here. Discover how your unique talents can help us bridge the past and the future.  We will make sure your volunteer experience is a rewarding one by matching your particular interests with areas of our operations in need of extra hands.

When contacting us about volunteering, please let us know which area(s) interest you the most:
