Over the last 300+ years since our Irish ancestors first set foot on our provincial soil, their contributions to the development of their adopted home have been immeasurable. While their historical integration into New Brunswick’s communities, industry, educational and religious institutions may somewhat mask their past significant involvement within today’s modern pursuits, efforts have been made to honour their impact by acknowledging their points of entry to New Brunswick, erecting memorials to the early settlers, ensuring their history is recorded and preserved in research and archival centres around the province and identifying the places of worship the Irish emigrants and their descendants were principally responsible for constructing.
