Born, May 27, 1834, at Cambridge, Queen’s County, N.B. Of Colonial Irish-Loyalist ancestry.  Son of the Hon. Charles Harrison, M.L.C. (q.v.), and his wife, Mary Burpee, daughter of Jeremiah Burpee, Sheffield, N.B.

(Paternal grand-father, Lieut. James Harrison, a Loyalist officer of Irish descent, enlisted in the New Jersey Volunteers and served under Gen. Sir Henry Clinton.  At the  close of the War, he came to N.B. and settled at Cambridge.  He married Charity Cowperthwaite, whose parents were Loyalist Quakers from Philadelphia.)

Educated at the Maugerville School.

Located in Sunbury County and engaged in agriculture.  Was a member of the Provincial Board of Agriculture.  A member of the Senate of the University of N.B., 1873.

Married, Nov 5^th, 1862, to Miss Amy Turney Barker, youngest daughter of Whitehead S. Barker (q.v.), a former M.L.A. for Sunbury Co.  Family of ___________.

Unsuccessfully contested Sunbury Co. for the House of Assembly at a Bye-election held April 5^th, 1868, to fill the vacancy created by the appt. of the sitting member, Hon. John Glaiser (q.v.) to the Senate of Canada.

First elected to the House of Assembly at the G.E. of 1870 and sat that Legislature until its dissolution in 1874.

In April 1874, he was called to a seat in the Legislative Council of N.B., and continued a member of that House until its abolition in April 1892.

On March 3^rd, 1883, he was sworn in a member of the Executive Council of N.B. and received the appointment of Minister without Portfolio in the Administration of the Hon. A. G. Blair (q.v.), which appointment he held until the dissolution of the Legislative Council in 1892.

He died, June 16^th, 1924, aged ninety years.  Survived by ____________..  Burial  __________.
