Born, February 14th, 1931, in St. Stephen, N.B.  Of Scottish-Irish ancestry.  Son of the Hon. George Herbert Inglis Cockburn (q.v.) (1889-1957), M.L.A. Charlotte, and his wife, Bessie Lillian Dinsmore.

Educated at the St. Stephen Public and High School and the Univ. of N.B. graduating with the Degree of L.L. B.  Admitted to the Bar of N.B.

Located at St. Stephen, N.B. and engaged in the practice of his profession.  Member St. Stephen Country Club; St. Stephen Kiwanis Club’ Vice Pres. Charlotte County Hospital Assoc.; Member of St. Stephen and District Association for Retarded Children.

Married, August 21, 1954, to Miss Marjorie Mary Theresa Ryan, daughter of Allan Ryan, Esq., Fredericton, N.B.

First elected to the House of Assembly of N.B., as one of the members for Charlotte County, at the G.E. of October 23rd, 1967, and at present sits as member in the House.

[Update by the ICCANB: He served in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1967 to 1982 as member of the Progressive Conservative party from the constituency of Charlotte from 1967 to 1974 and St. Stephen-Milltown from 1974 to 1982.  He died in St, Stephen, N.B., 02 August 1997, aged 66 years.  The couple had 3 children]
